This is the academic website of Tobias W. A. Müller. I was a Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung research fellow in the Computational Physics group of Wilhelm Kley at the Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics Tübingen.
During my Ph.D. I addressed several topics on planets in binary star systems and in transitional disks. This was done using hydrodynamical simulations with the FARGO code. I implemented several new features into the FARGO code, including radiative cooling, radiative diffusion, stellar irradiation and the treatment of particles. For visualisations purposes I wrote the FARGO Viewer, an open OpenGL Viewer for simulations done with FARGO.
In addition I addressed the question of habitable zones in multiple star systems in cooperation with Nader Haghighipour. We developed an interactive website for the calculation of habitable zones in multiple star systems.
